Adoption Policy

When adopting an animal in to your family,you will need to follow the following steps -

  1. Visit our shelter where you can meet the animals and choose an animal that you like and that would fit into your family.
  2. When you choose an animal you will be required to fill out an adoption form.
  3. You will be required to have a fully secured garden.We also like for the pet to be kept as a house pet where it will become a part of the family.
  4. You will be contacted a few days later by phone where a home visit will be arranged. A home visit can take between 5 – 10 working days.
  5. Our homing officer will call to your home to have a chat about the animal you are interested in to make sure both you and the animal are compatible and to check that your garden is secure and to view where the animal will sleep etc.
  6. If our homing officer is happy after the visit and the home deemed suitable,a day and time can be arranged for you to collect your new pet.
  7. There is an adoption fee of €90 for dogs, €60 for cats, €60 for Rabbits and small animals and €120 for grazing animals. This fee is then paid off our veterianary costs. This fee is non refundable.
  8. Any animal being re-homed will have a full health check,be vaccinated,wormed,de-flead and all animals over 6 months will be spayed/neutered.
  9. We also do follow up visits on every animal that we adopt out.
  10. We have the right to refuse anyone from adopting any of our animals.
