Personal responsibility:
Be dependable, recognising the commitment and responsibility to my volunteer assignment.
Accept assignment consistent with abilities and available time.
Accept assignment with an open mind and a willingness to learn.
Avoid conflict of interest situations and refrain from actions that may be perceived as such. Volunteers should reveal any potential or actual conflicts of interest as they arise.
Respect:
Treat all individuals with a sense of dignity, respect, and worth. Make a personal commitment to be non-judgemental about cultural differences, living conditions and the life-style of each person with whom I work. Be courteous and polite in all your actions.
Avoid profane and abusive language and disruptive behaviour that is dangerous to self and others.
Abstain from the use of photo, audio or video recording equipment unless given consent.
Respect all confidential information. Volunteers are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of all proprietary or privileged information to which they are exposed while serving as a volunteer, whether this information involves a single staff, volunteer, client or other person.
Do Not pressure anyone to accept political, cultural, or religious beliefs.

Representation of Kildare Animal Foundation:
Volunteers must seek prior approval from Kildare Animal Foundation before undertaking any representation on behalf of the organisation. This includes, but is not limited to, statements to the media, joint initiatives with other organisations and agreements involving contractual or financial obligations.

While personal use of social media is just that - personal - people may identify themselves as volunteers of Kildare Animal Foundation (e.g. in a Facebook or LinkedIn profile, or on a discussion board) or may be identifiable by their content in a social media channel, or simply by being known in the community or circle involved as being a volunteer with our organisation.
If you choose to identify yourself as a Kildare Animal Foundation volunteer in social media, you are expected to also make clear to your followers that the views you express do not necessarily reflect the views of Kildare Animal Foundation, by posting a disclaimer in a prominent place (e.g. “The views expressed are mine alone).
You must also:
 Adhere to the Kildare Animal Foundation Code of Conduct; Do not post anything which can bring the Animal Foundation into disrepute.
 Respect confidentiality: You should only share information on Kildare Animal Foundation which is publicly available. You should not discuss any confidential or commercial information, as this could have legal repercussions for you and the Foundation. If you are unsure if information is publicly available or is otherwise inappropriate to post, contact the Foundation before posting any such information.
 Be aware of data protection rules: You must not post colleagues’ details or pictures without their individual consent. Photographs of Foundation events should not be posted online unless approved in advance by Kildare Animal Foundation.
 Respect copyright: Always respect copyright or all information you encounter on the internet. Ensure to obtain permission for use of information and to give credit to the source of the information used.
 Adhere to our Child & Vulnerable Adults Protection policy and do not publish photos of children unless you have provided management with written consent from parent / guardian first.
 Use common sense: If you are about to publish something that makes you the slightest bit uncomfortable, then don’t. Discuss it with Management first.
 Don’t descend to their level: Sometimes, discussions or engagement on social media can be vitriolic, vulgar and offensive. You may feel offended by comments made about the organisation or about your role within it. Do not respond in kind. Maintain a professional approach at all times.

I acknowledge that if I am inactive as a volunteer for a period of 60 consecutive days or more that I will be removed from the relevant volunteering groups and that I will have to re-apply.
